Pediatric Gait

The way infants and children crawl, walk and run is an important way to measure their development. The various stages and the achievement of various milestone is an important part of paediatric gait development. None of the milestones are set in stone and they tend to be averages with wide variation from person to person. But if an infant or child is consistently lagging behind on some or most of the gait milestones they a further investigation is definitely warranted to rule out a normal variation versus what might be a pathological or disease process. There are many other tests that are available if there is gait problem.
