More Plank Exercises for Your Six Pack Abs
The normal plank exercise on your elbows and toes is a great exercise for the Rectus Abdominis group. This group of muscles is the one directly responsible for the six pack look. Of course, you will need to shed off body fat first for you to be able to show off your firm abs. Assuming that you are diligent in doing your cardio exercises and weight training, the great six pack abs you got from doing the plank will clearly show. But then again, planks are not enough to highlight six pack abs. Six pack abs are walled by the External Oblique muscle, or more commonly referred to as obliques. The obliques are actually the largest of the three muscles on the lateral anterior abdomen. Well-toned obliques are necessary in really bringing out six pack abs. Just imagine toned abdominals but with obliques sagging and un-toned – such look is unsightly!
