The use of Orthopaedics in Podiatry
Talking about the study of the bones and joint and the related structure and there problems is the Orthopaedics. Within podiatry, orthopaedics is considered to be the part of the discipline for the reason that it is concerned with structure and function of the foot and its musculoskeletal problems. These problems in the foot range from alignment problems such as flat foot or a high arch foot. They could include toe deformities such as hammer toes, claw toes and bunions. There are number of mechanical and surgical methods to correct the alignment and musculoskeletal problems which the Orthopedic involves. Mechanical interventions include things like manipulation and the use of things like foot orthotics and supports.
